Preparation
- Heat oven to 375°F; spray 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray. Set aside.
- In 10-inch nonstick skillet, cook beef and onion over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring frequently, until beef is thoroughly cooked and onion is softened; drain. Stir in taco seasoning mix and water; heat to boiling. Reduce heat; simmer uncovered 3 to 4 minutes, stirring frequently, until thickened. Remove from heat; stir in 1/3 cup taco sauce.
- Slice sheet of dinner rolls in half horizontally; place bottom half in baking dish. Spoon beef mixture over rolls; top evenly with jalapeño slices and sliced cheese. Place top half of rolls over cheese.
- Brush melted butter over tops of rolls. Bake 11 to 13 minutes or until tops of rolls are golden brown and cheese is melted. Let stand 5 minutes; cut into individual sliders, and top with remaining ingredients.
Expert Tips
- Colby-Monterey Jack cheese blend is a great swap for cheddar cheese in these sliders.
- To amp up the flavor and add a little texture, top your Mexican Beef Sliders with lettuce, tomatoes and Old El Paso™ sauces.
- Not a fan of heat? Leave out the sliced jalapeño peppers. Or if you’re the ultimate heat seeker, add more peppers, or swap the mild taco sauce for Old El Paso™ Medium Taco Sauce.
